Mail Badger: customize the Mail icon in the Dock

Mail Badger 0.3 is a friendly and useful plugin that potentiates the Apple Mail icon in the Dock applying multiple badges and personalized.

While Mail normally show the number of all unread messages on a red badge, with this extension is possible to increase the number of badges available, change colors according to a very broad range of conditions and configurable and perhaps assign them to account different, so I have to glance a much more comprehensive overview of the situation.

The characteristics of Mail Badger are:

Ease in creating custom badges
Possibility of control over size and position of badges
Support for an unlimited number of badges
Badge coloured, transparent or with background images taken from their
Possibility to show messages read, unread or the sum of both
Integration with AppleScript
And much more

Its cost? Free, since Mail Badger is released as freeware without any limitations or restrictions in use. A note for users Mailtags: Mail Badger could have a problem to compute correctly smart boxes created with the rules of the latter.

The latest version is only compatible with Leopard and can be downloaded from this page. Mail Badger 0.2 is still available for users of 10.4 Tiger but - warns the author - that version will not have future updates.
