Last we left Mitsubishi’s cool gadgets LaserVue 1080p rear-projection monster, we had size and shape, but price was a mystery. The mystery was solved today, as BitStream discovered the massive HDTV gadgets will set you back $7,000 when it ships later this month. There’s still no pricing info for the 73-inch LaserVue, which was also revealed in June.

The 7k figure is comparable to what manufacturers are asking for similarly sized HDTVs in the space, but this one has frickin’ laser beams. And unlike military lasers, these create a feast foryour eyes, instead

The range PZ800 has only two sizes, 58 and 65 inches, these are plasma with a 30000:1 contrast, Viera Link, 4-port HDMI, 1080p resolution, but without hard disk. All models include DTT tuner.

This month we get an original logo and speculation that Toshiba will be adding Internet ability to the original DVD players - and DVD movie disc content - too. The “DVD Download and DL” logo has been approved by the DVD Forum Steering Committee but we have no real information on what it will actually do. Will it make a difference in the never-ending HD spat?
