Multi-Touch trackpad: anything goes

There is an update on the news yesterday about the first problems of youth found in the new Multi-Touch trackpad, which fitted the new range of Apple laptops, called Unibody. First, the malfunction appears to afflict the MacBook Pro, and not the MacBook, but the good news is that Apple has confirmed to be at work on the problem. A user, in fact, has contacted Apple via mail complaining about various anomalies.

The trackpad glass in certain conditions does not record the clicks, and the hinges at the base of the display have the unfortunate tendency to “shoot” and quit when forming a very acute angle, for example when you are lying on the bed. Immediately contacted by phone from Apple spokesman, the user has seen reassure both the behaviors of its new MacBook Pro.

It ‘obvious that when this is a just a rumor, but its description blends perfectly with what was reported by Gizmodo that Quanta would be working on a Multi-Touch product for Apple. If we add to this the statements made during the presentation on the results fiscal Q3-2008, would almost say that yes, perhaps there this time we have.

In the video suggested, the Senior Editor - and cynical - Tim Moynihan has subjected the phone to a real torture, using keys, milk and cereals, water, dishwashing soap and sidewalks. How to say, if it has resisted all this, manage to survive in any bag or backpack.

The verdict? As we sensed by proof blender, the iPhone 3G is very strong and has continued to function despite most of the tests imposed. No problem if you want to wash or inzupparlo in milk in the morning but, really, avoid spend over with the bike.

More news on sales volumes of 3G iPhone: after those strictly Italian, here are estimates global sales. Ammonterebbero approximately 225 thousand, the units sold in the United States, 200 thousand and those in the rest of the world, all in the first 3 days of marketing.

The first to come to terms in your pocket to Apple is the illustrious Bloomberg. In an article, in fact, states that the outlets Apple and AT & T would jointly sold almost 230 thousand telephones during the first 3 days of availability. And this despite the problems and delays that have plagued a good number of activations. All exhausted, in short, and stocks arriving very soon.

For the rest of the world, Bloomberg estimates have been placed something like 200 thousand units, thus bringing to 425 thousand of the total phones sold globally in the first three days. The debut of the phone made in Cupertino seems to follow the script to the letter - feared by someone - a success announced. In fact remain unchanged all estimates made to date by Munster, that in this quarter Apple will sell some 4.08 million devices.

Finally, Bloomberg admits that these figures have discrete margins further growth, especially regarding the results extra USA; updates to this effect are expected very soon.

Update: Through its press office, Apple ago know that the number of 3G iPhone sold worldwide up to yesterday is 1 million round round.

The application you see in the video was created to iPhone by Rodrigo Guiterrez and Jeff Craig by the University of South Florida, and is capable of controlling a distance iRobot.

Well, almost a year after the first appearance in American stores is announced the availability of iPhone in our country. Actually, since we do not miss anything ever, Italy will (unless new agreements yet to announce) the only country to have the smartphones of Cupertino proposed by more than one carrier without that agreement of exclusivity that has characterized so far trade policy desired by Steve Jobs. And, of course, without revenue sharing.

But the belpaese, as we all know, is a particular market: some say is, as regards mobile phones, the most advanced in the world, others say simply that it is strange and complicated.
