 Apple makes podcasts available on Leopard Server

Apple has made available a podcast, viewable through iTunes, dedicated to the configuration and management of server version of Leopard.

Currently there are two arguments, the first on installation and configuration, the second on overall management of the system.

Network administrators alike in a Mac, find the discussion of topics very basic. However, the explanation is simple enough, so as to allow, even to those who want to address the putting into operation of a server OS X, to avoid initial moments of loss.

Last appearance, no less important, concerns the language in which they are presented two episodes. For both dialogues are in English.

Time Machine will protect our data at any time

Time Machine is filled with a new feature, as soon arrive l ‘10.5.3 update Leopard. This is reported by developers in possession of the recent release preliminary for next update.

The new configuration option for Time Machine allows, in the case of portable battery-powered, to carry out equally, in an automatic way, any backup expected. With the current version 10.5.2 of Leopard, if you start a backup and, in the meantime, you disconnect the seizure of power, Time Machine suspend the operation until the energy network should become available.

In intentions, this possibility configuration will allow the system to store data, we are working on a continuous, without which there may be periods during which our data are not safe.

Time remains to be seen what will be some time before it can update our copies of Mac OS X with the new release.

 Mail Badger: customize the Mail icon in the Dock

Mail Badger 0.3 is a friendly and useful plugin that potentiates the Apple Mail icon in the Dock applying multiple badges and personalized.

While Mail normally show the number of all unread messages on a red badge, with this extension is possible to increase the number of badges available, change colors according to a very broad range of conditions and configurable and perhaps assign them to account different, so I have to glance a much more comprehensive overview of the situation.

The characteristics of Mail Badger are:

And much more

Its cost? Free, since Mail Badger is released as freeware without any limitations or restrictions in use. A note for users Mailtags: Mail Badger could have a problem to compute correctly smart boxes created with the rules of the latter.

The latest version is only compatible with Leopard and can be downloaded from this page. Mail Badger 0.2 is still available for users of 10.4 Tiger but - warns the author - that version will not have future updates.
